[Philmont] Thermarest Chair and Butt Pads (was Pack Weight, was Dining Fly)

What Andre suggests is exactly what some members of our crew did. Those that didn't bring them were very envious of the comfortable pads the guys were sitting on. I think we bartered for the opportunity to use the pads when the rightful owner wasn't using it. LOL

Simple to carry - lightweight, waterproof, comfortable to sit on. Better, IMHO, than risking a puncture to my expensive Thermarest.

What my fellow advisors and myself did is to bring a piece of an old closed cell pad (think about 1 foot long) that we folded in half, making a pad about 1 foot by 1 foot. We called these our "butt pads" and brought them everywhere with usalways hijacked them for their use, so they must have been successful. YIS. Mike Conkey ('76, '02, '04 and '07).
