We did Trek 23 which follows the same basic loop as 11. What do you
want to know? Some highlights and advice from Trek 23:

* The sunrise from our campsite at Vaca was very nice
* The staff at Harlan were very nice and shotguns are fun
* Our crew loved "Hotel Cito", and had the climbing gym to
themselves for about an hour
* The "wood stoked" showers at Cyper's were not wood stoked - temp
was about 38 degrees
* Black powder rifles are fun
* Porcupine Camp should be called Mini Bear Camp; be sure to do
program at Crooked Creek
* Beaubien was like a summer camp; do your cons project at Cito if
you can since time is short with all you'll want to do here
* Be sure to do spar pole climbing at Crater Lake on the way to
North Fork Urraca
* Leave early for the hike in over the Tooth

Subject: [Philmont] Trek #11 anyone?

I know Kirk posted - thanks that was wonderful! Has anyone else "been
there and back" on trek #11? We leave next Wednesday and I would love
to hear your report!

Kelly - I love your tag line- "Only she who attempts the absurd can
achieve the impossible." - Robin Morgan

Most of my friends think I am absolutely nuts - then I come home and
show them pictures - and of course, the pictures take their breath away,
and then of course, I start thinking about when I can go again!

9 days to go - IWTGBTP!

Sue Bani - T230 - Philmont 2005 (726-K, trek 8), 2008 (726-N, trek 11)
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't
matter and those that matter don't mind." - Dr. Seuss
