Send them to Dave the Cobbler in Seattle. I just had a pair of Asolos repaired by him. Very reasonable adn high quality work. Remember anything can be fixed.
Dave is the one who determined where Mallory's boot was made that was found on his body on Everest a few years ago. INteresting story.
Dave is highly recommended.

I am sitting here looking at my Raichle Rotondos' circa 1985 with all of
their leather craftmanship. On my son's little eletronic scale, one boot
weigh in at 2.7 lbs. They were made, I believe, to accomodate crampons and the
ilke. They are very rugged but a couple of yrs ago the sole delaminated from
and neede to be re-attached.
Aside from that they have the "P Crazy S" brand from a trip to PTC in
2000.
These boot have been very good to me over a few dozen outings, so I am torn on
their use for 2009.
Trying to be thrifty, not sure of backcountry terrain.
