<snip> The next day was over to Beaubien, and we chose to go up and over Trail Peak wiith our packs. This was a pretty tough hump, but I am glad we did it, as there didn't appear to be a lot of time to go back in the off days, as we had a commissary run, cons project, horseback riding, chuckwagon and branding at Beaubien, with a layover.
Comment...
On Trek 14 (and 16) with a layover at Beaubien Day 6 and the chuckwagon dinner that evening, the commissary run can be delayed until the morning of Day 7 on your way to Crooked Creek. All the meals you pick up Day 6 you will be carrying back on Day 7 except for one breakfast. So why not show up at the commissary when it opens on Day 7, get all your meals, and sit down to eat that breakfast there?
Worked for us and our sister crew who independently came up with the same idea in '99.
Trail Peak with packs is certainly doable (my ScoutReach crew went that way in '03), but be aware that from Fowler Pass to the top is an old trail and pretty steep.
And regarding Pete's comment, the direct route from Webster Parks to Tooth Ridge is long, but it is not 13 miles. Though you can make it 13 by including Hidden Valley, which is worth the detour if you are up to it.
