[Philmont] to Croc or not to Croc?

Susan,
I'll only say what I do and what I encourage our crews to do - take a comfortable pair of lightweight sneakers as camp shoes. If that option doesn't cut it, and you're thinking inexpensive, take a look at the "knock-off" Keens. Make sure they have a covered toe and fit properly. Some even come with mesh sides.

Whatever they take for camp shoes, they'll want them to be a welcome respite from their hiking boots.

I'm sorry Susan, but encourage the crew to make their own decision. I wouldn't take crocs with me to Philmont for anything. Others on the list think crocs are God's gift to camp footwear.

Any further discussion about this topic is futile.

  Again, my apologies.

My husband and two sons are going to Philmont next week and at the last meeting, a couple of the boys who ahd gone said crocs were not a good choice. I know there was a discussion about crocs, but I can't remember what the outcome was?

  All suggestions are appreciated!
