Wise words.  Worth what you pay for them which is of course nothing unless they strike a chord, set off a bell or light a light bulb in yoru brain.

I am always skeptical when I read "I had no problem"  If you got no farther than five feet from your tent after taking off hiking boots, NOTHING on your feet is no problem.

Gutter spikes.  Need I tell it all over again?  Look it up on Seldens list.  Do your homework.

Buying tent stakes from returning crews.  There are 300+ Pholks inbound each day.  There are 300+ Pholks outbound each day.  Those two groups have absolutely nothing in commom except they are all registered BSA members.  Other than that they might as well be two continents apart.

All the outbound Pholks wanna do is stash their gear/turn in gear and do the 10 gazillion things they wanna do before they depart.  Hawking their tent stakes IS NOT on their agenda even if buying them is on your agenda.  However, you will be too busy to do it also.

Just "listen to and follow instructions" like your elementery school teacher told you in first grade, only this time it is in print in the material Philmont sends your crew.  Bring 'em from home whichever kind you choose.

Crocs.  I wouldn't miss this opportunity for anything.  There are Croc wearers and then there are intelligent people.
