During our Eagle ceremonies we usually have time for a adult to say a
few words. A roast sort of. Usually this is the SM or another adult
who has known the scout for some time. Quite often the topic of this
discussion is from Philmont of another high adventure trek. Many times
it is a humorous story or of one of the scout learning/growing on the
adventure.
We reminded an Eagle at his ceremony last May about his stubbornness on
not using his rain gear while going from Clear Creek to Phillips. We
had to get him out of his wet closes and warm him up when we set up
camp.

If you have sound equipment to play the National Anthem, God Bless
America or America the Beautiful during the opening, why not play the
Philmont hymn, either as background or as part of the program at a
suitable point? I'm sure a recording is available at Tooth of Time
traders. <http://store.philstaff.com/phiilifrto.html>
