Here is a link to the Air Force Chorale recording of the Philmont Hymn; Absolutely awesome! (BTW, my son is at Rayado second term and just reported, via postcard from Baldytown, that the trek is great. They had just climbed Little Costilla Peak, a mountain slightly higher than Baldy that isn't covered by any of the Philmont treks.) I wanna go back!

I used to be an Eagle.

Usually this is the SM or another adult who has known the scout for some time. Quite often the topic of this discussion is from Philmont of another high adventure trek. Many times it is a humorous story or of one of the scout learning/growing on the adventure.
We reminded an Eagle at his ceremony last May about his stubbornness on not using his rain gear while going from Clear Creek to Phillips. We had to get him out of his wet closes and warm him up when we set up camp.

The Philmont Hymn is on the CD, Philsongs II: Live From The Tooth

There is a recording of it being sung by the US Air Force Academy Chorale that is beautiful.
The song "On My Honor" is on the flip side of the record
I have found that recording on the web but cannot locate it this morning
It seems to be I got the link from this Email exchange.

Although I did find someone has a cell phone ring tone of the Philmont Hymn available!!!

If you have sound equipment to play the National Anthem, God Bless America or America the Beautiful during the opening, why not play the Philmont hymn, either as background or as part of the program at a suitable point? I'm sure a recording is available at Tooth of Time traders.
