[philmont] Backpacking Camera ?

Get a digital camera with a dedicated (proprietary) battery (not AA).

I used a Fujifilm Finepix F-31d on last year's trek.

You'll want a film card of 1 GB or bigger (mine holds 600+ pictures).

Reason for dedicated battery is they last a HECK of a lot longer than
AA's .. I've tried AA's but they don't do well in cold temperatures.
The dedicated battery seems to last forever.

Subject: [philmont] Backpacking Camera ?

I'm looking for a great backpacking camera for my husband to take to
Philmont - and with Dad's Day just around the corner. . seems like a
good idea.. Any suggestions?

and has anyone found a good lightweight solar battery charger for AA
batteries?
