I'm not going to reply with an answer as Doug's recommendation is one you should follow. Just remember that the youth protection requirements are not the same as Philmont's roster requirements. They are 2 different concerns.

We have an all male crew going to Philmont next week. The trek was awarded to the troop but the youth are made up of Boy Scouts and Venturers. For a long time we only had one adult over 21 going so we were going to use a boy who recently turned 18 as the other adult. Now we have another real adult going with them and the 18 year old wants to tent with one of his buddies who is not quiet 18.

My first question is can the 18 year old tent with his friend.

My second question is were we okay under our original scenario with Venturers in the mix?
