[philmont] Scout Direct Hot Hot Deals

I 'll try this again...
  I have a lot of Alps gear. Their prices are great, but be aware that you
get what you pay for.
  You may be a great tent for $70, but, unlike the higher end manufacturers,
if something
  breaks (like your poles), they will charge for replacements.

  Also, I've had a *lot* of failed zippers from this manufacturer. I have
three of six failed on
  one backpack alone (and I don't do a lot of backpacking), with two of
those failures
  occurring on my Philmont trek in 2005.

  I've also had zippers fail on two tents. Again, no warranty replacement
after the stated
  warranty period. I am beginning to have some serious doubts about this
manufacturer
  for unit gear.
